The medium-carbon steels are renowned for their toughness and contain a carbon content less than 1.75%. They’re a top choice for cookware, knife blades and other tools that are durable. Additionally, they are used in the manufacture of car parts as well as other mechanical equipment.
High-carbon steels are utilized for parts that require high strength and corrosion resistance. This includes tools, anchor bolts, and rods.
Alloy steels are flexible and can be adapted to meet the requirements of any use. For instance, tungsten enhances the temperature strength and wear resistance of high-strength steels. Chromium increases the ductility of stainless steels as well as increases their heat resistance. Molybdenum on contrary, increases the toughness and durability of alloy steels.
